I do yoga a few times in a good week, and I always love it. Getting to the mat, just like getting to the page, is the hardest part. The showing up. After that, it may be challenging, but I always feel better for it.

Showing up is always so hard, but always worth it in the end!

I also do yoga on Sunday, with a teacher who encourages you to take what you need from class. It’s a highlight of my week and when I don’t set aside that time to do it, it begins to feel like something is missing. I’m still working on finding the time to write/create but I’ll get there

I love that you also do yoga on Sundays! I think if you’ve been able to make the time and space for yoga in your week, then it’s only a matter of time until the same happens with writing. Maybe think of what things helped you to build the habit of going to yoga every week, and try to replicate that with your writing practice!

For me, it's writing and running, though I love yoga too. I find that what I crave is a flow state where the miles I'm running or the words I'm writing flow without any effort... When I can get that a few times a week I know I'm making progress.

Love that! Yes, running can definitely inspire that same flow state. For me, with all of these, if I'm able to quiet the voices in my head, it makes it easier - to run, to write, and to do yoga!

Yes, I write and do yoga (in between the demands of family life, paid work etc etc). I find that once I get back into writing/yoga after a bit of time away it’s easier to show up again the next time but it’s that initial step back in that’s tricky (a bit like stepping into cold water!) I’ve also been doing Yoga for Tired People which is great as most of the videos are 10 minutes or less & you don’t usually need a mat or any special equipment.

I'm totally with you, once we start doing it a little bit, it gets easier to get back into the flow of things. And thanks for that yoga recommendation! I'm definitely a tired person and love a short video.
